Art is the concrete representation of our most subtle feelings.” – Agnès Martin

Javier Gil try to work as if he was explaining to the children the deep of the universe. He seeks innocence. He tries to experience and convey the joy of being alive and awake.

When painters withdraw from our intentions the painting expresses itself. This withdrawal exercise is his proposal of work. Only if the result surprises he, he thinks the composition is good. He also seeks to express, the quality and expressiveness of the unpainted. The empty space as protagonist and generator of forms and harmonies. This experience, which combines the withdrawal of ordinary consciousness and the experimentation of the unknown and ineffable and its expression, is the continuation of his study of Zen meditation within the field of Art.
