PRESENTATION

After an initially traditional approach to ceramics, Laure Giraudaud soon turned to experimenting with clay, appropriating and handling it in a more transgressive and personal way, incorporating collapse, tension, thickness, over-firing, thick enamel overlays… She has now also started probing the field of multimedia and digital technology as a means of exploring alternative aspects of ceramics. Clay, both as a tool and source of inspiration, continues to provide the springboard for the sculpture of shape and volume in space.
