Tension – the allure of the oppositeness

Rebekka Benzenberg’s focus is the “between”, whether visible or not. She feel attracted to the controversy between body, material and image. Her works are often made of ordinary things to construct alien amorphous bodys, which are integrated into the rooms. So they are mostly temporary and bounded by architecture, which she constructs them in.

Her body is her measure. And she consider architecture, environments and places as materials. She is using raw and build materials as well as everyday items for her installations. Those materials have a high association-reach, which reminds the viewer to their everyday life. But this reordering of materials generates strange and grotesque impressions. Rebekka trys to questioning the known structures.
